Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos

While robots won't be able to replace a conventional vacuum in removing ground-in debris like metal screws or chunks of orzo pasta, they're excellent at sweeping crumbs, dust and hair from pets. The most effective models come with intelligent navigation and object avoidance capabilities which allow them to navigate around cords, toys and other obstacles in the household.

1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO unlike the other robot vacuums we have tested, comes with a self-emptying bin that automatically dumps debris into an external dirt container on its charging base once it is full. The i3+ EVO can be prevented from overfilling by a self-emptying bin. However it must be manually empty at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's inner dust bin can hold 2.4L of waste and is enough to last five or four cleaning sessions before you have to replace it.

Like the i7model, this model uses state-of-the-art floor sensors to create maps and navigate neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only store one map, whereas the i7 is able to store multiple. The i7's map can be used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones, however, not the i3+ EVO.

Although the i3+ EVO is more effective in removing surface debris than some of the other robovacs that we tested but it's not the best for cleaning edges and corners. It is also less gentle on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It pulled chairs away from walls, and made some collisions with the sides of our bed, and also was stuck to cords and toys during our testing.

2. Black & Decker Pro Q5

The Q5 Pro is an excellent choice for expanding your robot vacuum collection, or just getting started. It packs serious power, smart navigation and a user-friendly automation into a sleek design for a reasonable price. It's the most affordable pound-for-pound model currently available and is even better than Roborock's higher-priced models in many ways.
