The best robot vacuum cleaner and mop Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and will leave your floors clean. Its price is surprisingly low and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Be sure to examine the brushes of your robot for tangled hair and large particles, and wash them when required. Some models can also self-empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in an additional bin at the base. This helps reduce the amount of fine dust that gets released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They have top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. As with other top iRobot models (including the top choice) they employ smart mapping technology to design precise floor plans and eliminate home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature the feature of Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our tests on floors that are bare, and they're particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our first option. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to getting stuck on shoes and Robot Hoover socks and could not navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

Still, it's very good for those who want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also quiet and operates when you're at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. If you're required to, the mopping pad can be changed for a wet one in minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can also sweep floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and effective at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also comes with an impressive suction system and an automatic hoover bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, although it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combination uses advanced sensor technology to dodge obstacles and pet waste, and it learns the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when in a carpeted area to prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm can be utilized to reach under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum cleaners best vacuum/mop in the market to clean an entire house, finishing with only 66 percent of its battery left. It did a good cleaning job on different flooring and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, shoes and cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically fills up its base, and it supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

The robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular design that looks much like a Roomba model than the boxy models from the competition. It's one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It features advanced features such as enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's the only robotic hoovers mop or vacuum to score an exemplary 10/10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has a simple mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's still quite loud, which can be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work or at night as you attempt to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. If you're willing with a bit more noise and a little more cost it's a capable two-in-one that should please almost everyone.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot cleaner robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take care of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its premium competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection however this was not completely foolproof in our tests, and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vac works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to the amount of dirt they tend to be.

If you own a larger home, it's worth choosing a model that has the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your home needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. A stairway mode is useful if you own a lot furniture. Additionally, a recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum take over exactly where it left off is great for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you might think from its price. It's a pro at cleaning, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad and a rotating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the robot mop cleaners that we've tested. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, plan a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms for better performance. The app has a range of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It features an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans an area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it is more likely to be caught in low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums that we've tested. It also has an app that's not as intuitive and has a tiny base station that does not double as a bin to empty.
