Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt) and wet messes (spills or staining) in one go without the need to change devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads using an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual will have you running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and also vacuums well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you select the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only issue is that the robot tends to hit walls and objects at a high speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning robot mop and vacuum on the app will tell you exactly what the robot completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance jobs are required like emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the tank by itself with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time, with the mop capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you see every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This increases the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that enables it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to helps to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another surface. It can then change its course in a way that is automatic vacuum cleaner and mop and clean around the objects, without missing a step.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also feature-packed. Its sleek and angular design is attractive and it has just three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying, and the bin is auto-filling.

The only downside I found with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required) but it's a challenge to remove the mount itself to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot vacuum cleaner crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, which could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these through the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and track battery life. You'll need to jump through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with innovative features, superior suction power and cutting-edge mowing abilities. Its intelligent design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaners best vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry debris. It comes with a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without using pads. The X40 is also very quiet while in use, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.

Another notable feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners as well as clean curved furniture like table and Robots That Vacuum and Mop chairs' legs. The robot is also able to reach under low-profile furnishings, making it an excellent option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots. This is a nice addition that helps the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by the frequent back-and-forth movement.

In contrast to other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or separately. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and intuitive and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. They can also adjust suction power, switch modes, look at floor plans and maps and control mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and inform you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many features that make it a great option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, cleans mop pads and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you the moment when the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive models available, but it packs in many additional features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature of its mops, uses two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and small dirt particles as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is a fantastic feature since it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a system has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models, and it could be a great method to keep your home hygienic for longer.

There's a wealth of settings available that include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a variety of preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also offers several features that aren't offered on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this list however it's not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping design is also excellent and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
